post your comment

up, downs, wins, and ideas for next protest

up:
awsome protest, bohemian rhapsody, chicken, beans, black-ups,

down:
chicken didn'T last, not enough signs, no camera guy taking our photo

wins:
no chocolate for Xenu, fake church don'T liek CHOCOLATE it seem, and you BETTER LOVE CHOCOLATE, real church does love it.
My interview with those Uqam reporters, they decided to do it before protest, and whoever the contact was, was not there early, so i took a shot at it. I hope to hear back from it somewhere sometime in anear future.

ideas:
Sign slogans a bit more axed at educating the public. Scn = cult, Scn = Scam, visit www.enturb.com, ask me why i have a mask. etc. My sign of 'nous vous aimons/we care for you' didn'T serve much purpose

Up: Dancing, signs, CHIKKIN, bloody fantastic Anons, no bullbaiting.

Down: Homeless people stealing the chicken, lack of people to give flyers to, Anons suddenly rushing off onto a bus to destination unknown. Freezing my arse off.

Wins: CHIKKIN, free hot chocolate, Anons eating my caek, finding a pub and defrosting, much dancing.

The idea for more educational signs is a good one. People on the other side of the road seemed puzzled as to what we're up to. Is there any way we could attach a temp banner to the wall behind us?

Next month I'll probably go to Quebec for some reasons...
I have to see someone there. Unless he's in the RPF.

Up: it was great, food, people etc
Down: I showed up at 1:15pm may be.
Ideas: Finding a great theme and use it at full force.

Ps: I just have to say that the red rose was kind of a reference of V for Vendetta. But I guess it would be like a threat if we let a rose in front of their doors before leaving. Aha...
Ps2: To all the people who received a rose from me. It doesn't mean I want you all to die

Ups: Epic win, Bohemian Rhapsody, Relentless' "spirited" greeting, eating the jellybeans in the park after the raid, caramelldansen, my blackup arriving (three were people I "brought", and one brought six people with her that I claim by proxy, so I brought 10 people), cake, chicken, Moscau (both times), the "breasts without gravity" conversation, and knowing that the cops were laughing their asses offat us the whole time

Down: The leeches who ate all the food, their rejection of the chocolate, some people no-showing, being cold, and not going to the bar this time (went to my friend's house instead)

Wins: Everything

Suggestions: Moar cowbell

WIN:

- Some MIA anons were back....

- ... and lots of new anons as well!

- We give lots of fliers, inform lots of people, spoke to lots of them. And I 'm amazed to see how local citizens are really pissed off by the cult; at some point, people refuse to take our flier because they thought we were with the cult! (You read that, Scilons?! Shocked Laughing )

- A reporter showed up to report the protest, plus a filming student crew.

- Lots of good vibes in this protest despite the latest (and likely to be the last) drama.

FAIL:

- Weather!! We're doomed!!

- Cops cars. Five police cars for 20 or so protestors? Dear cops: Y SO SRS?

IDEAS & OBJECTIVES FOR MARCH:

- More signs. Let's do a «Everyone should have a French/Bilingual sign» protest next month, so people will know why we are there... so they will not confuse us with Scilons. You only speak English? Not a big deal, I'll post a list of French slogans on this forum.

(Also, can someone do me a large shoop of a Scientology sign in a «Forbidden to...» logo, so I can print them on the fliler?)

- For next protest, bring a friend. If everyone is doing so, we will double our numbers to 40.

- Media list: Anubis and I are working to build our own media list. But I think it should be everyone responsability to let them know about our protest. You know any reporter personnaly? A friend is working on a college radio? You know blogger who might be interrested? Let us know so we can add them to our press list, tell us about them about the protest and invite them.

- Do at least one flash raid to promote March raid.

Yes, student media would be a good source. If you're in post-secondary, tell your school newspaper to come by to the raids. Unless, of course, you go to Dawson, in which case, even if roughly half the people were Dawson students, I think we're better off just shutting up. Any publicity is good publicity, unless it's posted in The Plant.

See that my way, if someone was going to do something bad. You would like cops to be there to catch them. If you don't do anything illegal you're not suppose to worry about it.

We are within the laws, they aren't there for us. There are there for people who aren't within the law. And that mean protecting us and the scilons. If someone attack us, you'll be happy to have them around. Wink

It's not like in October when the angry cops threatened us with arrest for whatever he wanted. If people start bitching at cops it's not going to work out well.

I often wave a hand or show a thumbs up at them when they're looking at me and they return me a smile or they start laughing they're ass off. But at least they're smiling which is a good thing compared to the angry cops...

I just say that because I felt many people were uncomfortable with cops. They're not the enemy.

No, but having what was basically one cop for every two people was a fair bit extreme. You don't need that ratio even to stop a riot, and we've long-since proven that we aren't antagonizing anyone and remain completely nonviolent. I question the logic in putting all those resources into something one or two squad cars could have easily handled, even if things did get out of hand.

Fun but cold.

Clearly not enough shouting / action / signs.

Had a few conversation with people on the street, they reacted well and I clearly saw that they are now aware that $cientology has an opponent.

Had to leave when GF arrived.

"Scientology is going down, going down..." *honk honk*

I'll try to be there next month and I'll also try to assist NRR with media handling.

The raid was awesome and helped remind me that forum drama truly stays on the forum and doesn't ever leak into the raid. I'll write up a better report later, as well as post my pictures. The pictures are going to be a little delayed due to unforeseen software problems, but I'll get them up ASAP.
