There's an article in today's Gazette, pages A1 and A2 about the city trying to ban masks from protests. EPIC MOTHERFUCKING FAIL.

we need someone there. to say we've been staging masked protest for over a freaking year, 12 protest, and no violence, cops always were there and they know it too.

also that the anonimity also serve to protect the citizen. we have ourselves a good example of it when one of us got identified.

saying that masks incite violence is treating citizens like childs. and putting those who just want to protect themselves on the same level as those who mask up in the goal of doing something illegal is infurriating.

finally, making it harder for people to conceil their privacy can deter some people from epressing their opinion on a subject (ie thru protests) and is therefore limiting free speech

you all have to keep in mind that the mask is somewhat of a symbol to our group, and that a symbol, and the whole point of the fact that we are Anonymous, is that they don't have a clue who or what we look like. The Mask and The Costume are our two prime factors, and though me might not NEED the masks, we certainly want to have the right to wear them. I'm sure this isnt just about what was mentioned in the paper, and that the Scinos have a lil chunk to do with this too, surely in some way or another.

Man the harpoons. Better yet, time for a media story. Get on TV and complain about the police state tactics. Better yet, get media to ask "is Scientology behind this?" Seriously, this is not an unexpected development.

Also, ask if the Mayor is in on the deal. Who introduced this legislation? Why do they need to ban masks to fight rock throwing hooligans when they can arrest those throwing rocks? Is Tom Cruise gay? Feel free to add moar.

Seriously, also most of the citations about violent protests mentioned people in hockey masks. I'm willing to write up a press release about how the Guy Fawkes mask is centralized to our protest, our identity and our "internet culture" not to mention the past actions of the CoS on people who went against them.
